Got some interesting animations this week. 6PM GMT Monday: The Princess & The Cobbler: Recobble Cut: Mk V (2023) Tuesday: Macross 7 (1994), Eps 15 - 21 Wednesday: Skip Thursday: Wizards (1977) Friday: Wings of Honneamise (1987) So for Thursday we're watching the another Bakshi film, this was after Coonskin in 1975 but before his LOTR animation in 1978. His first Fantasy film. Should be decent. Friday is the Gainax classic Wings of Honneamise. I've been avoiding this one because I thought it was over rated like Evangelion but actually seeing a clip of it posted >>1037315 has convinced me to give it a go. Still continuing Macross 7, things are shaking up now that the city has separated from the military. Monday though is something special. The last animated film of Richard Williams, he spent 28 years working on it by himself before Fox picked it up in 1988. They spent 5 years working on it, going over budget and then Disney's Aladdin released in 1992. Fox re-edited the movie, sold it off to Miramax who also re-edited it and the end result is a 90 minute version that cuts alot of things. Thing is, in 1998 the original master was archived but also Richard Williams let friends work on the incomplete film. He would pass on in 2019 but in 2013 the Mk IV version of Recobbled was released, which adds about 20 minutes of incomplete and sketch book designs to the over all run time. So that's what we're watching, a partially restored movie with animated scenes done by professionals as a hobby with sketch book scenes to fill in the blanks between the original movie cut. I don't know what this'll be like but it should be interesting.
