It's definitely more an investors/ads thing, and maybe an unwillingness to comply with regional regulations. Companies in the US technically don't have to comply with any foreign laws and drawn art doesn't implicate CP, but once you have a site that makes money from overseas users that makes things a lot more complicated, since they can probably confiscate payments.

Alke does still actively create. I am one who has shared much on this thread before but because it was then shared too widely Alke asked me to stop sharing. Rest assured 90% of what he is making ends up here eventually.
